Have you been looking for ways to cut calories in your everyday life? Everyone knows that if you cut calories (or burn off more than you take in) you will start to drop the pounds, but it's not always as easy as it sounds. If you don't have the time to hit the gym on a daily basis, cutting calories may be the best option available to you. Let's take a look at some of the most effective ways to cut calories – none of these are hard and if you do manage to cut 500 calories a day, you'll find you're losing around 4 pounds a month! 1. Stop Eating in Front of the TV If you eat your meals in front of the TV – stop! Research has shown that we can cut as many as 300 calories per day if we sit down at the table to eat instead. Why? Well because we are focusing on our food rather than on the television and so we automatically eat less. Snacking in front of the TV is one of the harder habits to break so if you struggle try swapping the crisps and chocolate for more healthy alternatives like celery sticks and apple slices. You'll cut calories and lose weight by doing this. 2. Sugar Free Sips Instead of drinking full sugar soda or squash try switching to the diet varieties. The same goes for tea and coffee- switch to sweetener instead of sugar and limit the amount of fruit tea that you drink too. By simply switching to sugar free varieties of juice you can cut around 500 calories a day – even more in some cases depending on how much you drink and what. 3. Skip the Whipped Cream Whipped cream may taste good but do you really need to have it on your coffee every day? Research has shown that the whipped cream found in come coffee shops contains as many as 600 calories! Just think how many calories you could cut if you went creamless! If you absolutely have to have the whipped cream try and limit the amount of times a week you have it and/or the size of it. Alternatively try drinking espresso with a shot of whipped cream – this will help you cut calories and lose weight. 4. Be Careful With Salad Toppings You might automatically think that a salad is healthy but if you've been reading the papers in recent months you'll have seen the outrage there has been concerning the really unhealthy salads being sold in shops. One of the main contributors to this is salad dressings. Cutting calories when eating salads is easy – simply limit the amount of extras you include (cheese, croutons, bacon, caramelized nuts etc.) and replace them with healthy alternatives such as roasted vegetables and mushrooms. Try and limit the amount of dressing you place on your salad too or substitute your dressing with olive oil. When buying a salad when out, check the amount of calories that are included – if you really want to cut calories, make your salad from scratch yourself. 5. Quit Eating from the Bag Family sized bags of chips and crackers may be cheaper to buy in the store but they are one of the worst purchases you can make when trying to cut calories. Have you ever sat with a family sized bag of chips on the sofa watching a film? It's ridiculously hard to stop munching once you start isn't it? To counteract this place your chips or crackers in a small bowl and count out how many chips you place in the bowl. You'll cut the amount of calories consumed without even realising! 6. Stop Eating Seconds We know how easy it is when you're at a party or even at home and have served up dishes upon dishes of self-serve food to go back for seconds or thirds. To try and limit your temptation, leave your serving dishes in the kitchen and sit down to eat away from them. If the food isn't within easy reach you'll find you're cutting calories and possibly even saving food which can be served again the next day. 7. Check Serving Sizes If you check the back of any food packaging you will see a section which explains the serving sizes. A bag of chips may weigh 180g but a single recommended serving may be just 30g. This is the same for all types of food packaging so make sure you are only eating what is recommended. If you want to have fun at the same time, invite your friends round for lunch or dinner and share your meals with them – you'll have fun, cut calories and lose weight – what could be better? 8. Healthy Cocktails Everyone likes a drink now and then but did you know that cocktails are some of the worst offenders when it comes to large amounts of calories? Fruit juices, syrups, sour mixes and cream sodas are bursting with calories and won't help with a diet plan at all. When looking for how to cut calories when drinking try substituting the mixers with healthier drinks such as cranberry juice, tonic water or diet sodas. You could cut up to 800 calories in one sitting! 9. Limit Your Pasta Intake Now whilst eating pasta at home isn't necessarily a bad thing, when you eat out it's a different story. Some restaurants will give you up to 500% more pasta than you would usually cook for yourself at home and this adds up to over 1000 calories. If you want to cut calories where pasta is concerned try limiting the amount you eat whilst out or only eat it when at home. 10. Leave Some Food on Your Plate Weight loss expert James Hill advises people who are dieting to try and leave 25% of their food on their plate. If you think about it this makes perfect sense if you are aiming to cut calories and lose weight as say for example you eat 2000 calories a day, by leaving 25% of your meals you are leaving on average around 500 calories – this is a whopping saving and you'll be losing weight in no time! 11. Beware of Healthy Restaurants Healthy restaurants are a great way to cut calories however they also lead us to order "not so healthy" foods as we believe we are saving calories on our regular meal. If you do eat out in a healthy restaurant don't ruin your progress by ordering sodas or unhealthy sides. If you skip both of these and a desert you will cut calories and lose weight – around 500 calories in fact! 12. Eat Properly and Eat Less If you fill yourself up with a proper breakfast you are less likely to snack during the mid-morning on unhealthy foods. Likewise before dinner or lunch try and eat a healthy soup. Both breakfast and soup will fill you up and lead to you eating less during meal and snack times later in the day. Research has shown that by doing this you will eat around 150 calories less per meal and this all adds up! yen sao hitech review hue tourism vietnam how to weight loss cute girl dac san hue how to solve rubik how to tie a tie how to be pregnant how to cv what is fashion trends ky nang ban hang kinh doanh quoc te ngu phap tieng anh de thi dai hoc luan van ngan hang luan van thac sy bao cao thuc tap Quan tri kinh doanh Anh van giao tiep Bao cao thuc tap ke toan Bao cao thuc tap khach san Luan van bao chi Luan van van hoc Luan van sinh hoc Luan van hoa hoc Bao cao thuc tap xay dung Bao cao thuc tap co khi Bao cao thuc tap cong nghe thong tin Bao cao thuc tap nhan su Bao cao thuc tap quan tri kinh doanh De an giao duc
